Sunday 27 September
Erev Yom Kippur – Yizkor & Kol Nidre
3:30pm – Kol Nidre prayer
3:45pm – Yizkor service
Followed by Rabbi Gabi’s drosha
About the Service:
The ARK Centre Yizkor service is one of the most meaningful and moving times of the year. In our tradition, each person speaks the name of the loved ones they are remembering. As we go around and hear from each person who wishes, those assembled are able to support each other and collectively we remember those we have lost. This year we will conduct a similar style of service via Zoom.
At the start of the Yizkor service (after the reciation of the Kol Nidre prayer) our Gabbai, Jeff Shenker, will call on each person to say the name of the loved one or loved ones they are remembering. Please wait for Jeff to call your name before speaking. Please ensure you are not on mute when your name is called. Please note if you are not online at the commencement of the service your name may not be called.
After each person has had the opportunity to share the names of those they are remembering, Rabbi Gabi will conduct the Yizkor service and sing the Memorial Prayer, El Male Rachamim.
At the conclusion of the Yizkor service Rabbi Gabi will share some thoughts ahead of Yom Kippur.
The zoom link for the service is below. When you join, please ensure your name appears clearly so Jeff can easily identify who is online.
Registration:
We ask that all those who wish to participate register ahead of the service. This will ensure the smooth and timely running of the online service.
Anyone who wishes to participate should email the office via office@arkcentre.com.au no later than 12pm Friday 25 September. We ask everyone to be online at the designated time in order to ensure the service can run as smoothly as possible.
